I'm doing some research for a 1 night stay we'll have in Zurich at the end of our trip. We're going to Salzburg, Vienna, and Prague and we're catching a train from Prague to Zurich for that last evening.
I'm interested if you folks would recommend it for our 1 night stay before catching the flight home. I understand that it's close to the train station. Is it also easy to get to the airport from there?

We are also looking for a room for one night before flying out of Zurich. From another travel board I read a comment from someone who bid on Priceline and got the Renaissance ( four stars ) for $90 USD per night. That may be something to consider. We have had excellent luck with PL in several cities.

It's a great hotel near the train station and perfect for a night before you fly home. Trains from Zurich Main Train Station go directly into the airport so it really couldn't be any simpler.
Thanks much for the info, Tim. I went ahead and booked this hotel. The room descriptions are a little cryptic from the links on Tripadvisor.com. But, I found another post here on Rick Steves' board that had a link directly to the Hotel St. Josef website.

The St. Josef comes highly recommended by a Fodor's poster who is widely travelled and well-respected. I think it must be a good budget option in Zürich.
We also like the Adler in the Oldtown, but it is more expensive.
Also, lots of people have done well with Priceline for 4-star hotels in Zürich, as suggested above. These may not be as close to the train station as the St. Josef, so they may or may not work as well for a night before one's flight. If you do try Priceline, take a careful look at the location, or make sure the hotel has a shuttle or other means to get you to the airport or the train station for your flight.
The train from the main Zürich station into the airport takes about 12 minutes. It stops right iside the terminal, so it is very convenient.
