Hotel Royal Phare, Hotel Kensington or Tourisme Hotel

I am about to book 3 nights in May in Paris, at either Hotel Royal Phare, Kensington, or Tourisme Hotel, I have read all of the tripadvisor reviews and searched the helpline about these hotels.

Has anyone been to all 3 of these hotels, 2, and if so which one would you pick? It sounds like this is the best central location to stay, thats one of my top priorities, also I want it to be clean, and it's fine if it's small.

Any advice on which one of the 3 you would pick? Thanks so much, I wanted to get advice before I booked with my credit card!

I stayed in the Royal Phare in June 2008. I've stayed in the La Bourdonnais which is about 2 hotels down from the Kensington and my office mate has actually stayed in the Kensington. No experience with the Tourisme.

According to the office mate, the standard rooms at the Kensington are very very tiny and the bathroom almost impossible to turn around. They upgraded to a Superior room for a few more Euros and said it was MUCH bigger and the bathroom included a tub.

The La Bourdonnais touts itself a bit too high in my estimation and it's just too expensive. The Royal Phare was a great little no-frills hotel. It was clean and cheap but the best part is the Metro stop right at the door to the Hotel Royal Phare. There are also 2 ATM machines about 10 feet from the hotel's door and a supermarket right next to the ATMs. The Royal Phare rooms include a small fridge where you can keep your wine and cheese and anything else you like. Step out the door of the hotel, turn left and in about 25 steps you are on Rue Cler which is VERY VERY handy for breakfast and evening crepe snacks. I highly recommend the Royal Phare.
