Hôtel Rouvenaz or Tralala Hotel in Montreux

We are currently booked at the Lausanne Guesthouse in late May but really would like to stay in Montreux given we'll be visiting the Chateau and would like to spend more time there and in Vevey (we are only in that area 2 nights).

There are 2 rooms available at both the Hôtel Rouvenaz and Tralala Hotel in Montreux - both include breakfast, about 10 SF difference in cost per night. One of the hotels is on the edge of the old town (Tralala) whereas the other is closer to the water. One is clearly newer and remodeled and the other older.

The problem is I can't find anything but the basic hotel information for the Hôtel Rouvenaz. I can find restaurant reviews (since it has a restaurant) but that's it. I don't believe they even have their own website (it's a smaller hotel).

Has anyone heard of either and able to provide any comment? Thanks in advance!

We actually ended up at the Tralala Hotel (May 2009) - it was pricey but worth it. There is a shuttle bus that you can take to get up there so you don't have worry about walking. The breakfast was continental but the croissants were, at the time, the best I'd had (I've now been to France..so, I can't say that now). We had a corner room on the 2nd floor I think (might have been 3rd - it was assigned when we got there) and the parents were in the room next door. Our room was bigger and had about 4 windows on 2 sides - it was a fantastic room, really. The parents room next door, not as nice - it had 2 twin beds in it and one window. Our only complaints were the showers appeared to have drainage issues and we had difficulty getting wifi in our actual rooms and had to go downstairs to the lobby. We did find a good restaurant to eat in - Restaurant Caveau - tried Raclette for the first time which was fun (they had a champagne fondue that was pretty tasty as well). Let me know about any questions about the hotel or area specifically.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the early planning stages for a trip that will have me and some friends there in July of 2012 for the jazz festival so I'm just trying to get ideas on where to stay.

Good luck...I remember reading it's difficult and a lot of folks book far ahead for that. You should check Lausanne too - there is a guesthouse I almost booked there - it's a quick train ride.
