Hi Visum. How many nights will you be in Amsterdam? If it's at least three, check out the Quentin Arrive Hotel (their minimum-stay requirement is 3 nights). They charge around 90 euros per night for a double room and are only a five-minute walk from Centraal Station. I'm not sure how old the building is, but we had to carry our suitcases up a tight, winding flight of stairs. It doesn't get any more "classic" than that!

This is not early to be reserving for those cities in Aug-Sept. In Venice, it is hard to find inexpensive lodging. However,
Pensione Gueratto is highly favored here. Nice old building (everything in Venice is old on the outside) with classic decor, on a canal. http://www.pensioneguerrato.it/default.asp Their double room w/o ensuite bath are 95 euros, so within your price range. Ensuite rooms are more (140 euros). This place is very ppopular so it may be fully booked, but you can send an inquiry on the website.

Ca Dogaresa in Venice and Residenza Cellini in Rome. Go to tripadvisor.com to see more about these places. In Amsterdam, I would suggest 7 Bridges, but it may be out of your price range.

For Paris, I'm leaning toward the following hotels (in order of ascending cost)... -Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais -Aviatic Hotel Saint Germain -Hotel Louvre Sainte Anne
-Hotel Saint Jacques Any thoughts / experiences at those hotels - or other recommendations? Not yet sure about Amsterdam hotels - any insight on which borough to stay in for the best art museum, culture, and canal experiences? Kind Regards
