Hi! My husband and are are traveling to Italy/France in May and are making a 2 night stop in Beaune. I have a few places in mind but am having trouble deciding on one. I thought I'd see if anyone had personal experience with any of them (good or bad!). We are traveling on a budget so prefer something around or under 100 euros. We will be arriving/departing by train and our plans include doing some kind of bike tour (probably self-guided). Hotels I've been considering: Hotel de France Hotel de la Paix Hotel des Remparts l'Auberge Bourguignonne
(My first choice was La Villa Fleurie, but they were already booked) I'd appreciate your input! Thanks!
Stacy, in 2004 we stayed for 2 nights at Hotel des Remparts and really enjoyed it. There were 4 of us in 2 Db rooms and both rooms were very pleasant. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was very helpful and courteous. (Of course that was 2004 so I hope that it's still just as nice!)
We stayed for 2 nights at the IBIS Beaune La Ferme aux Vins. 92Eu/night for a DBed. It was a very basic room but nice and clean and met our budget requirements. #17 of 45 hotels in Beaune by www.tripadvisor.com
We had a good experience at the Hotel de la Paix.
We stayed at Hotel Remparts last May and liked it also. It is walking distance to everthing, room was large, and there is a courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine. Be sure to take the train tour to get an over view of Beaune. We got the pass which covered the Hospice, train, and wine cave visit. There is a shop called Antique Village which has gorgeous antiques. There are lots of options on excellent restaurants. HR has parking available. Enjoy!
Hi Stacy, About 3 years ago we stayed at Hotel de France. It's very basic but a good budget option. It's right by the train station and a 10 minute walk to the city center. The bike rental shop was just down the street. If I weren't on a budget, the Hotel des Remparts would be my next choice. You can check the reviews for Hotel de France on Trip Advisor to see if it would be a good option for you. Thanks everyone for your responses so far. I thought I had decided on Hotel des Remparts....but then they only had a suite left which is way above my budget. This is the last of the 6 cities I've booked a hotel in for our trip and the only one where finding a room at the hotel I want has been an issue.
Keep the suggestions coming!
You might look at Hotel Henry IV (VI)...just out side one of the gates...convenient to all of the city...it has parking available, and I enjoy a stay there a few years ago.
