Hotel Recommendations in Barcelona

Hi, We will be in Barcelona for 4 nights in June and are looking for hotel recommencations. There will be five of us (2 adults, 3 kids). I prefer a place close to the beach but with easy access to the historical sights (Barceloneta Beach?). Suggestions appreciated. Thanks! lance

We are also planning a trip to Barcelona next summer. I'm researching the city and can't figure out which area we need to book our hotel in.
I don't want to be too far from the beach but also close to city center and some night time activities as well. Anyone?
