Does anyone have a moderately priced hotel they would recommend near Barajas airport? We're flying into Madrid from London on a Friday evening (October 10) and leave at noon the following day for Morocco (Marrakesh).

Accor has a couple of hotels nearby....the Ibis Aeropuerto, about 6/10ths of a mile from the airport, but there's no shuttle any more (89 Euro). A taxi will be cheap. The Ibis Valentin Beato is in Madrid's east end....about a 15 minute cab ride (around $15 Euro) to terminals 1-3....another few minutes, and Euro, to terminal 4 (69 Euro). There's also a slightly less expensive, but still modern and comfortable Etap hotel at Valentin Beato as well (45 Euro). Check accorhotels.com

We stayed at the Ibis Valentin Beato two weeks ago.
The Suanzes metro stop is one block away, with one line change to get off at the Prado area.
It was 17 euros to taxi to the airport in morning traffic. You could also go by metro directly to the airport terminals very easily (I think that was one line change as well).
It was 69 euros per night for 1-2 people (plus 7 euros for add'l person) and very clean. I saw limited restaurants on the street, and the hotel restaurant did not have a large selection and was somewhat pricey. We ate all meals elsewhere. It is a chain hotel atmosphere but the location (relative to the airport and metro stop) and price are worth it.
