Hotel recommendation for Vienna

Hi, can anyone recommend a budget/reasonably priced hotel in the Innere Stadt (or close by) for a single female? I'd like to keep it under 80 Euros for a single. I will be coming in by train and will be staying for 4 nights.

Hi Mardee,

In March of this year my husband and I booked a room in Vienna using Priceline.com. We bid for a 4-star room in the City Center and ended up with the Le Meridien across the street from the Opera House, price was USD$90/night ($104 including taxes).

We used the site www.betterbidding.com before we bid to get a better feel of which hotels we might end up at and what was a reasonable bid to start with. There is also a calendar feature on this site where you can see what other's have been getting for the dates you want.

If you haven't used Priceline before, keep in mind that once your bid is accepted the room is non-refundable and can't be canceled (although Priceline does offer some sort of insurance, but we've never used it and I don't know what the T's and C's are).

Mardee, you might try this English version website to find a hotel or pension in Vienna (Wien). They list several places in your area and price range.

Have you tried trip advisor to find something?

Thanks, I'll try all those ideas (Steve, I did check the hotel you mentioned, but they don't have anything for the last 2 nights of my stay). If I have to, I'll go out a little farther.

I did check Trip Advisor - also Rick Steves and Lonely Planet. I've emailed some and am waiting for responses, but thought I'd check here, too. :)

I just checked my email, and wound up getting a room at the Pension Nossek, which is recommended in both RS and LP. It's €62 for a single with shower (toilet down the hall), which is perfect for me. And the location sounds ideal. I'll come back and post how it turns out. :)

Thanks again for everyone's help!
