Could s.o. please recommend a hotel close to the Cruise terminal in Barcelona and /or close to the Rambla ? We will go on a cruise and spend a few days before in the City. Thanks for your help !

When my husband and I were they in March, we stayed at Hotel Regencia Colon (www.hotelregenciacolon.com) next to the Cathedral and near Las Ramblas. I found the room to be very nice and the location was perfect. It also has a "Mother" hotel in front of iut called the Regencia, but that is a bit more upscale and pricier.

Stay nearer Las Ramblas--you'll see more of the tourist sites without constantly needing cabs. I recommend the NH Duc de la Victoria, on a quiet side plaza just off the northern end of Las Ramblas. Quiet, safe, well-appointed room and bath and excellent buffet breakfast. Pricier than the budget hotels, but very good value for money and its mercifully free of the how-much-can-we-drink-and-how-fast crowd. It's also easy walking distance from the wonderful Gaudi apartment buildings, and a 30-40 minute stroll through a pleasant and safe Barcelona neighborhood to the Sagrada Familia cathedral--a must see!!

Was in Barcelona in October with a group. We stayed at Hotel Catederal, at the Barcelona Cathederal (at least, around the corner from it.) Near Las Ramblas, and the gothic quarter. New, clean, well managed. A good place to stay!
