Hotel or B&B recomendations in Paris

We are staying just one night in Paris. We have 3 adults and 2 small children in our group. Can anyone recommend a good place to spend the night that is clean, near Notre Dame, and not too much money?

Thanks for any help you can offer,

Sharon

I stayed in Hotel De Nice a few years ago. It as very reasonable (euro 120) and close to the metro. Prices have undoubtedly gone up, but it still might be a good option.

Sharon, I stayed in an apartment that was 1/2 block from Notre Dame and its very touristy area. You can find hotels but not sure if its "not too much money".

If you want an inexpensive, clean hotel that's a 10 min metro ride to the N.D. I would recommend Hotel Porte Doree (http://www.paris-hotels-paris.com/) The area is nice and quiet, and I felt more of a local staying there, then I did in my N.D. apartment.

You may also check for an apartment. Most require at least a 3 day stay, but maybe you can find one with a 1 day stay. Its worth a shot!

Alternatively, you could read the "Sleeping" chapter in Rick Steves book Paris 2008 book, lots of excellent info and recommendations there.

Thanks for your replies, We will be coming from London on the train, and we want to see Versie sp? and Notor Dame. We will want to stay where it is most convenient to these locations.

Thanks again,

Sharon

Thank you for your reply, unfortunately I don't have a copy of Rick Steves Paris handy, I'm looking to see if I can get one.
