Hotel near subway , but out of central Paris

We will have a car with us while in Paris for three days and need to park it at the hotel. I believe a car outside Central Paris would be best. Any recommendations for a hotel where we could park our car? We could then take a subway to Central Paris for the sightseeing?

There are some excellent recommendations for hotels in Central Paris, but none just outside the city.

Ibis have several inexpensive but comfortable and modern hotels just inside or outside the Peripherique, the ring road that circles Paris, at the various "Portes" or old entrances to the city. All, I believe, offer parking and all are close to the Metro. Chech www.ibishotel.com then look for "on a map." Take a sweep through the outer arrondissements of Paris, then on the areas surrounding Paris like Haute-Seine to locate them. The parent firm is Accor, a huge French chain...so for something a little more upscale in these locations, check www.accorhotels.com. If you need to communicate with them and there's no e-mail address listed, look for the four-digit hotel number assigned to each Accor hotel. Then sent an e-mail to Hxxxx@accor.com, where the "x's" are the four digits.

Thanks you Norm for your prompt and complete response. I have begun my search as you recommended. So far I am having a little trouble finding a hotel outside the ring, but will continue to look. Thank you again. I really appreciate it.

Dean....start with Ibishotel.com since it's the best choice in terms of price versus accommodation. Click down thru their maps to Paris and check the areas that lie close to the Peripherique. If you check at the top in each region listed they allow you to plot those hotels on a very rough map. Select the ones near the Peripherique to see if they meet your needs.

To Norm and Perry - thank you for your comments.

The Michellan WEB page was helpful in locating a
B & B between Paris and Versailles. Their WEB page says that is a 20 minute train ride to either Versailles or Paris downtown. The price is reasonable - $135 and it includes breakfast. The room looks great. So far I have been unable to read any independent review from other guests. I am in communication with the owners and if everything checks out, I will book the room.

Thank you again for your assistance.

Dean...just remember that will probably be an RER ride, not a metro ride, so it'll be more expensive than a simple metro ticket. However, with the RER ticket, you will be able to make a transfer onto the Metro system to get where you want to go in Paris.
