We're looking for a decent hotel (for 1 night) that's close to CDG Airport that also offers a free shuttle bus to the airport. Any recommendations? Thanks.
I have stayed at some of the hotels mentioned by Bets that are part of the Accor Hotel group. A couple she didn't mention are the Mercure and an All Suite Hotel in Roissy. There is also a Marriott next to the Mercure. All have a shuttle which starts around 4am and runs approximately every 20 or 30 minutes. I always enjoy having dinner at the Marriott when I
stay in that area. There is also a nice little park across from the Marriott.
Yes, we always sit in the lobby bar area and have a couple of glasses of wine and a small meal. Last trip it was the pizza which was outstanding. We
also use the time to catch up on e-mail, etc. using their wi-fi.
Brian, If you have a "generous" travel budget, you could stay at the Paris Airport Sheraton, which is built right inside Terminal 2. No need for a Shuttle as you'd be right at the airport. I'm sure you'd be VERY comfortable staying there! Happy travels!
We have stayed at the Ibis at CDG. It is about 200 ft from the free rail shuttle to Terminal 2 and reasonably priced considering the location. It is likewise very convenient if you are taking the RER to CDG from Paris since the RER stops at the same place as the airport rail shuttle.
We stayed in June at the Aparthotels in Roissy Village. It was very budget friendly and we had a little kitchen which was nice.
Hotel Campanile in Le Mesnil Amelot fits your bill. We stayed there in July at end of our vacation. Shuttle every 35 minutes to CDG. Especially easy if arriving from Alsace/Verdun direction.
