We will be in Paris in mid April. Our flight back to the states leaves at 10:30 AM from CDG. Do you recommend taking public transportation (metro, RER) to the airport or a taxi. What time should we leave, and do you know average cost?

For €8,70 you can take RER C (Dir: 'Saint-Martin d'Etampes') from the 'Invalides' stop to the stop 'Saint-Michel Notre Dame', then transfer to RER B (Dir : 'Aeroport Charles de Gaulle 2 TGV') to CDG - you'll have to figure out your stop at the airport, since I don't know your destination or airline. There's always the airport train to get you back to where you should be... Be aware that the RER Invalides stop is a metro stop away from La Tour Maubourg...so it's a little walk...or you can take the metro line 8 Dir: 'Cretail-Prefecture' for one stop... I suggest the train so you don't have any traffic worries. You should be at the airport by 7:30 or 8:00 at the absolute latest.
