Hotel Marignan in Paris

Has anyone stayed in this hotel? It's located in the Latin Quarter, and at only 65 euros for a double, it seems like a great deal and is apparently recommended in other guidebooks, but not Rick Steves. Does anyone have opinions on it? Thanks!

I can't speak for the Marignan but Tripadvisor.com has traveler reviews for most hotels.

Your post brought back lots of good memories! I stayed at the Hotel Marignan for one and a half months in 1975 while looking for an au pair (nanny) job. It was very basic, very budget but I liked it. I have read good reviews of it in travel guides and they said it was very basic, very budget, good for backpackers, students, etc. If I remember correctly, they said they have a washer/dryer and a small kitchen where you can prepare your own food. I go to Paris almost every year and I've walked past it many times but not gone in, looks fine from outside. It's location is absolutely perfect. I think it's worth a try, but I'd keep researching.

Boy. You touched my hot button. I vote against this place. This is my third posting against this hotel and will probably give you an idea of the kind of experience we have had.

This place does have free microwave, washer and dryer which is good but this hardly matters if the hotel is not clean, odorfree, etc.
