I saw the Hotel Leveque in the book. Has any one stayed here? How was it?
Thanks
Good day; Everyone who has read the RS guidebooks and has gone to Paris has probably stayed at the Grand Leveque.
The rooms are very basic but certainly clean and adequate. For a few more dollars you could probably find something a little better but there is no problem with this spot. I do believe it is overrated,
but that is made up for by the fact that the location is great. Rue Cler is charming in its way, a little touristy, but the nearness of a Metro stop and a laundromat is of prime importance. They also have an arrangement with a shuttle company to get you to the airport if you need it (26€ approx). Breakfast is basic, fruit, coffee, croissant, I think it was 8€, not much more than "on the street breakfast". We tend to pay the hotel breakfast rate and "wake up" before heading off.
