Hotel les Cretes Blanches vs Hotel de l'Arve Chamonix

We will be in Chamonix on June 23 & 24 2013. We are looking at Hotel les Cretes Blanches and Hotel de l'Arve. Any comments or thoughts are appreciated. We are also open to others suggestions for lodging. We are budget travelers, but do not want to sacrifice comfort or a good view to only save a few Euro.

Have only stayed at Hotel de l'arve; had good experience, breakfast, as I recall was good. We have made reservations there this coming July. If you plan to ascend Mount Blanc, go early, such spectacular views.

We stayed at hotel de l'Arve two years ago(late May) and liked it. Had a balcony/deck that over looked the river and had a view of Mont Blanc also. The room was very quiet and had comfortable beds. Easy walk to the train station if you plan to use trains. We did not have breakfast at the hotel but found breakfast items at the nearby COOP market. The TI in Chamonix has good info and maps. We arrived at around 9 am for the Aiguille trip-this, of course, cannot be missed.

I agree with the two previous posters. Really liked Hotel de l'Arve.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like Hotel de l'Arve would be a good choice. Any other favorites in Chamonix? Now onto finding lodging for Annecy (June 20 & 21) Any input would be appreciated.

Absolutely!! " L'oustalet "! we stayed ther in late september of 2011 . A rick recommendation ( check it out on Tripadvisor as well ) That time of the year was not busy in Chamonix , and we loved the place . It is run by two very charming sisters and you are made to feel most welcome . My wife and I loved the place , it's immaculate and very cozy . Actually on our upcoming trip this fall we are headed back there for three days before returning to Paris at the end of our trip to central Europe . You won't be sorry , Enjoy your stay , Steve
