Hotel in Zurich

I will be flying home from Zurich this summer and am looking for a hotel in the city but near the train station - safe for a woman traveling alone. It's only for one evening and night before my flight. Any suggestions?

I have stayed at Hotel St Goddard. It is a business hotel and is walking distance to train station in Zurich. Not sure if the rate is too high but location is wonderfully convenient.

I, too, need a place to stay in Zurich for one night only, and I need it to be very centrally located. I will be coming from Paris to Zurich in the early afternoon, and then flying out to SF next day midday. I would like to stay as centrally as possible so that at least I can see some of the city. So far did not find anything that's central and decently priced. If any of you know a suitable place, please let us know. Thank you.

Judy,
After poking around Internet for quite some time, I booked a room at the Alexander Hotel, not the main thing but their less expensive Guesthouse. It is 95 CHF per night, including taxes and breakfast. There is an extra city tax of 2.50 CHF. This is only 5 minutes walking distance from the mail railroad station, and I do need to be close so that not to spend extra time on travelling but actually be able to see the city. This would be my last night of the trip before heading home. The website is www.hotel-alexander.ch. Good luck.

We stayed in the Hotel Helmhaus which is about 20 steps from a Tram stop. It's located just next door to the Grossmunster Cathedral...with the 2 soaring steeples. Now matter where you go you really can't get lost...just look for the 2 cathedral spires and you will know your hotel is just next door. The place was clean, the people friendly and the included breakfast was good. It also has air-conditioning so if you need to close your windows you can still have ventilation.
