We're going to Germany again over Xmas to visit our son and family in Kaiserslautern. We're considering taking a day trip to Strasbourg--looks fairly do-able by train or car with 2 kids. In case we decide to make an overnight of it, does anyone have recommendations for a hotel in Strasbourg? Obviously we will make plans ahead of time before we go. A hotel that is family-friendly would be perfect. Many thanks!
I enjoyed staying here: http://www.hotel-suisse.com My single was a bit small but it had a view of the back of the cathedral. The hotel is well located both for the cathedral and for public transport, and serves a very good breakfast buffet. Friendly staff. Don't miss Srasbourg - the cathedral is stunning, the Petit France area is cute and the museums are worthwhile.
Strasbourg is an easy day trip from K-town. I suggest staying in Molsheim or Obernai instead of in downtown Strasbourg. You'll have plenty of time to see the town and still get out into the cute surrounding villages. Go to: www.visit-alsace.com
Thanks to you both, I will check them out. Last yr we enjoyed day trips to Luxembourg and Trier. We thought this yr it might be fun to stay overnight.
