Hotel in Paris with kids

Hello,
in June of 09 we will be in Paris for four days. (our sons really wanted to see it) I am looking for a hotel where we can all stay together in the same room. I am flexible on the location; the children really would like to see the top tourist attractions. I just need the basics: clean, safe area, and easy access to the sub-way.

thank you for any suggestions.

Try the Port Royal. We took our daughter there several years ago & it worked out well.

I would look at an apartment. Go to Vacationinparis.com. There are several in the 7th close to Rue Cler. One nice thing is that you can call them and you pay in dollars, not euros. They will send you the key ahead of time. They are very nice and if you book well ahead of time there are a lot of very nice apartments in all price ranges. Also, these apartments do not have to be rented for a whole week.

I would also recommend considering an apartment. Typically hotels in Paris are not the common 2 queen size bed situation that is available in America. If such a room exists (the few that are) the price may not be one you would enjoy.

Well, it would really help if you told us HOW MANY kids you have??
Also , ages of kids, a room may fit 3 kids under 10, but be impossible for teenage boys that are 6 feet tall ( as my 14 yr olds were).

If you have never been to Paris then I personally would stay in a hotel, I like the extra help one can usaully get from the desk clerks( like where is the nearest metro station or a good cafe) , plus on holiday I like someone else to make my bed and clean the bathroom.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

Yes I have been to Paris before and knew that the hotel rooms typically are not like the ones in America with two queen/full beds. (at least the ones we stayed in) this will be the first time the children will be with us. Sorry not to mention the boys ages. We have two sons who are 9 and 11. (ages at travel time 10 and 12)

Thank you again,
Viv

Viv, I second the apartment. I'm going in June with my niece and rather than getting 2 rooms, or sharing 1 small hotel room, we got a 1 bedroom apartment with a pull out couch in the living room. The cost was cheaper than a hotel, and we have access to a full kitchen and a washer... making it more easy to pack light!

You really should hurry and get your hotel... many are full.

I used rentalo.com

Viv:

We have stayed at Hotel Republique (curiously enough - right off Place De La Republique. Great family rooms where we all fit (a little cozy but survivable). The place was clean and friendly a good supply of bakeries, bars and restaurants nearby and terrific Metro access. Have fun.
