I know this has been asked a lot, and I've looked at all the posts, though a few of them seem to be a little out of my price range so I was hoping someone else had any other suggestions. I'm a university student who is looking for a hotel in Paris in a low to mid price range (have done the hostel thing, want a little bit more comfort than that), I'll say max would be 75 euros? I've been looking at tripadvisor as well, but I've found the best results have come from Rick Steves' forum. Anything would be of help!
Hotel de Turenne, 20 Ave de Tourville, in the 7th. I pay 69 Eu/night for a single with shower. The hotel is clean, not far from the Eiffel Tower and Napoleon's tomb. It has recently been refurbished and is probably one of the best deals in Paris. They usually have rooms available....I always book in advance......The Grand Hotel Jeanne d'Arc is also a good deal, but it tends to be full.....Both hotels are in the RS guidebooks.
How long will you be there? You might be able find an inexpensive studio apartment in your price range. Check on vrbo.com and homeaway.com to see what you can find. I have used that website in both the U.S. and Europe, and have been able to negotiate the price many times.
The Hotel de Nevers near Place Republique has a variety of very basic, but clean, rooms in your price range.
Brianna,, actually I have found the tripadvisor forums very helpful in finding hotels in Paris, I have found about 8 or 9 that way that I have been happy with. The RS forums seems to have a much smaller pool of recommendations, in alot fewer areas,, with of course a few exceptions. Your budget is low, and I assume you want "central" Paris( as of course there are more budget friendly choices as you go into the outer arrondissmonts) One I can suggest, right in central Paris, steps from ST Michel RER/metro, just off Boulevard St Michel( so on quiet street) is the Hotel Saint Pierre. I think I paid 80 euros for a single, but this was in summer, perhaps there is special prices for other seasons. Rooms were clean, but very small, as is norm really for most large cities in Europe.
Hi Brianna, I stayed in the 15eme which doesn't seem to be too popular, its not a touristy area. But we stayed in Hotel Au Pacific (http://www.paris-hotel-pacific.com/), its very simple but clean. Breakfast is about 7 Euro and its amazing.
I recommend the Hotel de l'Avre in the 15th, but not far from the Eiffel Tower. It gets good reviews on Trip Advisor and I had a good experience there this summer.
Just stayed at Hotel Lyon-Mulhouse near Bastille for 72 euro/night. Very clean and well-run.
"My Hotel in France"---terrible name, wonderful hotel.
Brand new everything in the Marais (near Filles de Calvaire metro stop).
There always seems to be promotions running.
