Has anyone stayed at Hotel Dacia Luxembourg? I am looking for inexpensive but nice places to stay at. I will be there for 5 nights at the end of March. I have looked at hotel websites in Marais, 5th, 6th, and 7th sections and have driven myself crazy. This will be my first trip to Paris. Any suggestions for this hotel or others in Marais, Latin Quarter, Invalides, or Saint Germaine areas?
Any information will be appreciated. Thank you
I have not stayed at that hotel, however, we are staying in May at the Tourisme Hotel near the eiffel tower. Rates are good, and nice review on TripAdvisor. http://www.hotel-paris-tourism.com/
Hi Judy, We used Parishotels.com to book Hôtel Jeanne d'Arc located in the Marais. We really liked the location of the hotel, the staff was helpful, and the room was small but comfortable. It was a good value for Paris at 89 Euro per night.
I like the Hotel Muget in the 7th arrondisment.
I also like Hotel Muguet or Hotel des Grandes Ecoles in the 5 th
After reading lots of info on this site and others, the next time I'm in Paris, I will book an apartment. Can hardly wait.
I agree with Jim--Hotel des Grandes Ecoles is a good choice as well!
Thank you for your responses. Which neighborhood has the best inexpensive cafes? Rue Cler or Marais? Or Saint Germaine?
I like rue cler area and Hotel Kensington.
walk to alot of Paris' highlights. St Germaine is pricey area. Follow RS suggestions for cafes to eat at. Nothing is cheap except grocery food. But now dollar is strong there is great values compared to last yr.
I was in Paris last summer and stayed in the 7th area. It was a nice area for our first time, but from now on I will stay in an apartment. The rooms in hotels are sooo small and staying in an apartment especially for 5 days will be much more comfortable. This way you may eat their too. Our hotel would not allow any food in the room. The little food stores in the neighborhoods are really reasonable with great selections and wine. Try vacationinparis.com and VRBO.
