Spending 3 nights in June. Flying into Orly. Will to go to Versailles one day and taking train out of Gare Lyon to Switzerland. Any suggestions on where to stay for ease of trains/bus to get around. Moderately priced, Clean hotel. Thanks

Hotel Eugenie, moderate/budget hotel, clean, a/c VERY central, about 100 yrds from St Michel RER/metro station. Walk to Notre Dame and Louvre..
Only problem is may be booked up.

We have stayed at the Hotel Le Littre (6th arron.) twice in the past three years. The last time we stayed there we had a special room with a balcony and a complete view of the Eiffel Tower. We could sit out on our balcony and watch all the lights of the Tower and of the city. As we were there in May and June, it stayed light until 11:00 PM. We booked our hotel directly on the Hotel Le Littre website. The requested room can not be booked on other sites. You must book it directly with the hotel. We were within walking distance of the Metro. We also took day trips through Gray Line Tours.com. They are based here in the U.S. We went to Versailles, Giverny, Normandy, etc.
