Can anyone suggest a DECENT hotel in the center of Munich with parking under $200/night.

You might have a look at Hotel Uhland. It's very close to the main sights of Munich, in a quite neighborhood, have fantastic breakfasts and I believe they provide complimentary parking (I always travel by train, so can't say for sure). The staff are wonderful and the rooms very comfortable.

I'll second Hotel Uhland...10 minute walk from Hauptbahnhof and 20 minutes to Marienplatz. They offer free on-site parking for drivers, but I didn't need it. Check it out at: http://www.hotel-uhland.de/

you may want to try the hotel Drei Lowen . it's a fairly large, downtown hotel, with all the normal amenities. there was parking available when i was last there (not available everywhere - don't ever assume ). the hotel lacks some of the charm of a smaller establishment, however it's location is SUPER-CONVENIENT .... only a couple blocks from the main train station, & right on the edge of the pedestrian-only zone .... where a 10-15 minute walk will bring you right into Marienplatz, with the famous mechanical clock, the outdoor market, the Residence Museum, & lots of shops & a beer hall or two along the way. you can leave the car behind for a day or two, and see most everything by just walking around.
also, city tours & public transit connections are also available right in the immediate area.
