Hotel in Mittenwald

We can recommend the Pension Schwalbennestl in Mittenwald. While we didn't stay in one of the apartments, we did stay here twice ('05 and '06). Nice place, very nice host (Frau Bader) and a quiet location. Oh, the prices are fantastic also.

Thanks Paul. I did try email them first because I remembered you had stayed there but they were not available for the dates we wanted (the apartment, that is) They are holding two rooms for us but we may change our dates just to get the apartment. Thankfully our flights are not booked yet but we don't want to be there too close to Octoberfest.

Hi, Nadine. I stayed at this B&B last September and absolutely loved it. We had an apartment with one bedroom, a living/dining room and small kitchen. Also an entry area and bathroom. We had tons of space. The breakfast is excellent, and the owner is quite friendly and knows a fair amount of English. The decor is kind of country Germany, not luxurious, but it has character. There are great down comforters on the bed, and the bath was brand new. We also had a balcony with a view of the mountains. I highly recommend this place. I don't know if they have apartments for 4, though.

We actually now have confirmed an apartment which belongs to the family who runs the Schwalbennestl Pension. The photos of the apartment (online)
makes it seem quite cosy and exactly what we want.
I have read feedback about the Pension but not the apartment which is in a separate area from the Pension. I am thinking that if the Pension got such great reviews then the apartment can't be too bad but who knows.
