We're traveling with our 8 year old daughter next May and want to be very very close to the Marienplatz. I am finding that some hotels won't accommodate a third person. Any suggestions? Thanks.
We stayed in a triple room at Pension Lindner, 5 minutes from the Marienplatz, fairly big room, good breakfast and nice hostess.
Hotel Blauer Bock will accommodate 3 people. Very close to to Viktualienmarkt & therefore Marienplatz. Good breakfast & nice staff.....http://www.hotelblauerbock.de/
I've also stayed in a Pension that was close to the Marienplatz (possibly Lindner but I don't recall the name). Pensions in Germany are consistently nice places and decent on the budget. I think that is a great option....................When calling for rooms I generally start with the number in the party and number of nights and see what the hotel offers. Often it's a choice I wouldn't have thought to ask for but works perfectly well.
Thanks, I have emailed both of those hotels but have not heard back. This may be a hectic time of year for them.
Keep in mind that the center of Munich is pretty compact. Most sites of interest to tourists sit less than a 15 minutes walk away from Marienplatz, so you shouldn´t feel that you need to limit yourself to that one particular area.
We stayed at the Platzl Hotel, which is not right on the Marienplatz, but a short walk to it. Lovely hotel. There were three of us and they had no problem accommodating us. **Edited to add: One website lists the following about the hotel - 100 yds from the Hofbrauhaus 300 yds from the New Town Hall/Glockenspiel
The Exquisit is very nice and has an awesome breakfast. A Maisonette room worked for us with our child, with an extra bed. We'll be staying there again in December. A bit pricey though, but not too far from the center.
have stayed at hotel lindner twice. very good location, big rooms, great breakfast and the staff is friendly. super close to the train station if that matters. have fun, be safe.
Platzl Hotel, Torbrau Hotel, Hotel am Viktualienmarkt, Hotel Blauer Bock - all of these are around the Marienplatz or the Viktualienmarkt.
While Hotel Exquisit is very nice, it's not as close as the hotels above.
