We are looking for a hotel for a 2 night stay in Innsbruck in September. We're considering the Gasthof Weisses Kreuz, but were looking for additional suggestions.
I've stayed at the Weisses Rossl. Great location and nice rooms. Very nice restaurant too. Tripadvisor is a good resource for getting feedback on hotels.
Check Booking.com or Venere.com. Innsbruck is large enough to have dozens and dozens of good hotels. I travel by car, and especially like to stay a couple of miles west of town on the north side of the airport. The village is Kranebritten, and there are a couple of nice hotels with restaurants there. It's very quiet, and we like to see the gliders come down at sunset and land beside the runway on the grass. The mountains are dotted with little villages far above the city. The bed and breakfasts and small hotels in those villages are fantastic places to staywith incredible views. They also have great restaurants up there. The city has a good online tourist bureau with hotel listings.
We stayed at the Weisses Kreuz back in 2006. LOVED it. Location was great and the hotel was charming and our room was quaint, spacious, and had a view of the main street. Bathroom was modern. Even tho the hotel is very "old", it was def well kept, modernized, and one of my favorites in Europe!
