I have been trying to book a room in the Hotel and Gasthof Dreibeiniger-Hund in Gölitz, listed in Rick's 2007 Germany guidebook. Over the past two weeks I have used the reservation request form on their website twice and faxed them a request. Is there anyone with experience with this Hotel that knows whether or not it is still in business? It looks like a great place to stay. Thanks.
We were planning to keep the auto parked in Görlitz and walk over, as Steve suggests in this tourbook. I am not sure if we are allowed to bring the rental vehicle into Poland or not. Thanks
Jean, your issue is solved. Please read private message.
Görlitz is great. I see the hotel problem is solved. Just be sure to cross over into Poland to see the contrast. We couldn't use the main bridge but had to walk further south. Also, be sure to buy some Polish pottery.
If you're traveling by rental car make sure you refill in Poland as it's about 30 cents per liter cheaper than in Germany. Cigarettes are also just a fraction of the German price (you're allowed to bring one case per person only).
