I'm looking for recommendations for a hotel in Frankfurt for my son (age 13) and I. We will be in town for just two days in late September, arriving by air from London into Frankfurt Int'l. Proximity to public transportation to/from the airport and also to whatever train station one needs to go to catch a train to Berlin is important. Thanks!

I just posted these in another post today, but here you go: For simple, but decent lodgings, check the Spener Haus, or Hotel Mirimar. An easy tram ride or U-bahn ride away from the main train station is the gorgeous neighborhood of Westend. Look at Villa Florentina, Savigny Hotel, Art Hotel Robert Mayer, Hotel Goelz, or Beethoven Hotel. http://www.arthotel-frankfurt.de/ I would also check out the Adina Hotel. It gets great reviews and it is not only near the Alt Stadt, but all of the Museums, the Zeil shopping street, but also only a 10 min. walk from the main train station, or a couple of stops on the tram. Does your train to Berlin leave from the airport or the main train station? The airport is 11 min. away from the Hauptbahnhof, so either way is fairly close.

Thanks for the help so far. As I mentioned on another thread I started (on hotels in Berlin) this is our first time in Germany and I'm just now starting to plan this trip, so I don't know what train stations we will be using, but from what you said, I gather getting to either the one should be simple?
