Hotel in Carcassonne

I'll be staying 1 night in Carcassonne with my husband and toddler. Does anyone have a suggestion on where we should stay or eat?

We really liked the Hotel Du Chateau right across the street from the castle. The view is incredible and yet you cannot see the throngs of tourists until you cross the street.

We stayed in the Best Western Hotel Donjon (I'm pretty sure that's what it was called). It's right inside La Cite. As I recall, it was very nice. Carcassonne is awesome. I only wish I wasn't so exhausted when we were there,we were much to tired to really explore during the evening we stayed over (after the crowds dispersed. I had to literally drag myself out of the bed to go out for a short stroll. The heat of the summer did not help. Have a great time. If you are staying in this region of France, the coastal town of Collioure was wonderful. I'm looking at a lovely photograph of it as I type.

We stayed at Le Jardin de la Cite. Very comfortable and very short walk to castle. Nice view at night. Dinner at Le Saint Jean. I am surprised at its low rating on tripadvisor #54 of about 155. However, we had a great meal.
