Any recommendations for a nice hotel close to La Grande Place? I'll be there on a shirt-tail overnight from Paris. Thanks everyone!

I can recommend just about anything except a hotel... I have family within an hour of Brussels, so I never need a hotel there.

I had a pleasant stay at the Novotel which is right next to the GP. Nearby is it's sister hotel the Ibis which typically has cheaper rates.

If you are arriving on a Fri,Sat or sun dont reserve.Go to the TI and they will find a room for you.We did it(Steves suggestion) and got a 160e room for 50e.It was a very nice place near Grand Place.We had a choice of many rooms at different prices.

For the only time in all of my yearly visits to Europe, I did just what jack did. Worked out well and got an expensive room on the cheap.

We stayed in Hotel Opera.
Would not really say it was great but a place to stay.

We stayed at the Brussels Mariott for a few nights during the Christmas markets. It is in a convenient location (across from the stock exchange, just a 3 minute walk from the Grand Place). The hotel and room were very nice, however, the only reason we stayed there was we found a great last minute deal on booking.com that came with breakfast. The breakfast was amazing! Living over here I miss American breakfasts and it was wonderful to have made to order omelets, bacon, and other tasty treats!
