I have one hotel left to book on my trip and that is in Bruges. I was going to stay at a hostel there but decided against it. I'm not looking to spend a lot of money since it i'm only there for one night and plan on being out and about while i'm there. I don't need anything other than a centrally located hotel, clean sheets and a nice shower...breakfast would be nice too. any suggestions is much appreciated. thanks, michael
In 2006 I stayed at Hotel Ensor. The location was great and the breakfast was excellent and everyone was friendly and helpful. It is within walking distance of the train station, and everything else. :)
If you want a REALLY centrally-located hotel...how about next to the Tower? You can't possibly get lost: http://www.hotel-koffieboontje.be/en/home_en.html I've stayed here several times; you can absolutely gorge yourself on their breakfast buffet - Trust Me ;-) I see they're redone their rooms; you can rent bikes from them if you want...FYI - the wall-mounted 'hair dryers' I've used there in the past...they're more like a 'hair whisperer' LOL! Considering the location, I've found the rooms to be surprisingly quiet (except, of course, for the carillon...which I LOVE to hear). And that's with the windows open. The bus from the train station lets you out just around the corner; the bus pick-up for the return trip is a block or two away...the hotel can direct you there. I've also gone by taxi; it takes a while longer, but it's certainly fine; I don't remember the price 'cause I wasn't paying ;-) If you're a Belgian-beer drinker, send me a PM...;-)
Hotel Ensor likely half the price of the Koffieboontje.
Hi everyone, thanks for the information. I decided to book this little hotel. It's called the Hotel Ter Reien. It seems nice and the reviews were good. If anyone has any comments please share. thx again for the assistance and suggestions. michael
