Does anyone have a recent recommendation for a lovely value hotel that includes breakfast. There are 4 of us traveling and we will be spending a day and evening going through the Burgandy area and I saw Beaune in the RS book. Hotel La Villa Fleurie caught my interest along with Les Jardins de Lois(much more upscale it appears). Thank you.
Hotel de France is good if traveling by train. Next to station. Good breakfast (dinner too)
If you have a car, I highly recommend La Maison des Abeilles B&B which is just outside Beaune. They have a family room that sleeps 5 and is very reasonably priced. The other rooms at the B&B are nicer (my parent's room was beautifully decorated) but the family room has a refrigerator and table and chairs.
We stayed in Hotel La Villa Fleurie in late Sept. 2012. It was quite lovely but I believe you would need two rooms. We were in one of the comfort rooms which was one of two larger rooms. The place was very charming and about a 15 minute walk from the center. I guess I would have preferred to stay closer into the center as we did a lot of walking whenever we wanted to go back to the room
for a break.
Hotel Des Ramparts was wonderful- a few blocks (easy walking) from the Train Station heading for the town center...friendly hosts, lovely common areas and reasonably priced. Beaune was a special visit for us for many reasons, our Hotel was a great bonus.
We stayed last summer at the Ibis. Moderately priced, clean, convenient, easy free parking. We would stay there again. Walk across the street to the Centre-Ville, but easy to get out of town to other towns/day trips.
