Anybody have a great, reasonable hotel/B&B in Barcelona?
Hotel Lloret at the top of the Ramblas - from Rick's book. I have stayed there twice, most recently this past January. Great location, good rates, and they are very nice.
I agree that Hotel Lloret is a good place to stay.
Breakfast came with an extra charge when I stayed there in 2008, so it isn't technically a "B&B." The hotel is very handy to the Metro, airport buses, HOHO buses, shopping, and strolling the Ramblas.
We just stayed at the Hostal Curious and highly recommend it.
We liked L'Antic Espai. Reasonably priced. Great location. Very responsive, helpful owners. Ask for room 102 -- very large, with a spectacular ceiling and a balcony overlooking the street.
Stayed at the Hotel Altantis just around the corner from Placa Catalunya for 3 nughts just 2 weeks ago. Includes breakfast and we paid 90 euros (including tax) for a double.
Good deals are available on Barcelona hotels through Priceline. We got the 4* Tryp Apolo for under $100 including tax and fees last July. The exchange rate was better for the $ then, so it might take more now.
Tex.. They're $188 now for early May. Maybe Priceline can get one a better deal???
Check out betterbidding.com to see what people are getting 5* hotels for in Barcelona. One report is for the Hilton Barcelona at $100/nite this month.
