The Hotel Miramar is in the Montjuic area of Barcelona. I don't know whether to stay there for 3 nights in Sept. --(it is a bit out of the action)--or stay in the center of the city--say the Hotel Colon--any thoughts would be appreciated--Thank you

I guess it depends on whether you're looking for a relaxing stay in Barcelona, or something a bit more tourism-oriented. At the Miramar you will need to look for a taxi or some other option, just to get into town, or back to the hotel. Colon, on the other hand, is right in the middle of town. If you have never been to BCN before, and want to see as much of it as possible, I'd go for Colon. If you are after a relaxing vacation, absorbing the Mediterranean air and light, enjoying the mixture of sea and mountain that Barcelona offers, choose the Miramar. Either way, you can't really go wrong. Have a good trip.
