Any recommendations for a hotel in Barcelona ? arriving May 04 for 2 nights then on to Madrid for 1 night..

Look at Hotel Jardi. We did a lot of internet lookiing plus travel books. It seems to rate will with travelers. It is also near where the bus leaves for the airport.

I decided upon the Apsis Hotel Splendid for my stay tehre in August. In L'Eixample and we got a good rate b/c we booked early. Got good reviews at tripadvisor and with the rate we got, we couldn't pass it up for the great location

We stayed at Hotel Principal close to The Ramblas just off Hospital. Room was very nice and staff very friendly. Quiet hotel and nice price, also reccomended by Rick.
