Which one? There is a Hotel du Lac in Bellagio, one in Varenna, one in Menaggio. . .

No, but we stayed at Albergo Milano in Varenna and really liked it. Mike

Stayed at the Hotel Du Lac in Bellagio and loved it. It was a great value when you include the half board. A wonderful dinner on the balcony overlooking the lake was a small add on to the price of the room. Owners were lovely people. Warm and friendly. Lovely comfortable and quiet room.

Did not stay there but Hotel du Lac is gorgeous and I will stay there next trip. The location is really nice & quiet with beautiful lake views. If you travel by train a taxi will be needed as it would be too far to walk with luggage. Unfortunately we chose to stay at the Olivedo with all the ferry activity right in front of the hotel.

My husband and I stayed there in Sept. 2009. We loved it. We had a room on the top floor with a small balcony overlooking the lake. The room was beautiful. Also, be sure to make a dinner reservation at Albergo Milano. This is one of Rick's picks. They offer a three course meal for 29 euros. Great deal and the food is delicious. We ate there the two nights that we were there.

We ate at Albergo Milano and were very disappointed. The meal was unremarkable, although it was nice to eat outside on their terrace overlooking the lake. I recommend a restaurant literally just a few steps from the hotel called "Quattro Pass'." Their Filet with Green Peppercorn Sauce still lingers in my memory. . .
