We have decided to stay at Hotel de l'Arve in Chamonix in mid June 2013. We are considering the apartments offered by them. My husband and I are traveling with another couple. Here are our questions.
Does anyone have first hand experience staying in one of the apartments, if so which one? Are the apartments separated from the hotel or are they part of the hotel? Are the 2 bedrooms that are advertised actually 2 seperate bedrooms? The view is stated as being Aiguilles, how does that differ from the mountain view that is advertised for the hotel rooms? Just wanting to get it right. Thanks!

Jeanine, No we haven't stayed in the apartments, but if no one responds, here's what I see from looking at photos from booking.com vs. photos from trip advisor; plus we have stayed in Hotel once before and have reserved a room this July. The apartments are connected to main Hotel but face away from the Hotel Alpina, if you were on the apt.balcony, river would be to your right. We had a Mt. Blanc view. Hoping I'm correct, I think you would be looking towards Martigny,Switzerland. From the photos on booking.com it appears some apts. may actually be loft-like (beds are upstairs). Hope this helps. Some of the photos appeared that rooms weren't separate, could be wrong. This is a well respected establishment, I think they will answer you honestly. I have an interest in what you experience, I may want to bring a couple with us in the future. On the photos I also saw a kitchenette, this would be quite handy if you were staying 3 or more days.
