Looking into reserving room here 3 nights in late May. Are deluxe size twin or double worth thr extra cost? I am all for paying for more room if worth it.
Holiday Inn Amsterdam in Amsterdam 1083 HJ
I stayed here last July. The hotel was very nice and you get a bus just a few minutes walk away. The train station is quite close too. We had 2 double rooms, very spacious.
The Holiday Inn Doreen mentions is not centrally located. It's near the convention center and you would need to take the metro or tram to get to get city center. Try the Rho Hotel or the Avenue Hotel.
I have never heard of the hotel, and have no idea where it is. I'd be happy to look at their website and see the description they give for the different rooms and give you an idea what the differences are. Then you could decide if that's worth it to you. Or... you could go to their website yourself, read the descriptions and decide. You posted this thread in "To the West" so I assume it is east of the UK, north of Italy, west of Eastern Europe, somewhere in western Europe. So, which hotel d'Amsterdam are you looking at? Have you looked at TripAdviser reviews?
I think hotel is in Amsterdam,, but Eileen we cannot assume that unless you tell us, many hotels have similar names, and they are not always in the places you would assume, for instance , I have stayed in the "Hotel Brighton" ,, which is not in Brighton at all, but Paris! Frankly in cases like this I would email hotel directly and ask for bed measurments/sizes. Guessing can be too tricky.
Sorry, yes in Amsterdam....near the museum quarter.....comments talk of "small" ...etc but the reviewers don't say if they reserved small or deluxe with more room in Sq feet....... Eileen
Well I've looked at their website and TA reviews. It seems from the website the room sizes are not mentioned. I do notice that there is only €10 between the beginning prices, and none at the top end. It seems to me that most (all) the people on TA saying small are Americans. Dutch hotel rooms are generally much smaller than most US hotel rooms so that is not a great surprise. Have you tried sending a message to those TA posters whose reviews interested you? Or telephoning or emailing the hotel directly with your question? They probably would have the best answer. They could probably measure the room they would offer you.
Good day to all! Thanks to all of you who have replied. I see some great suggestions and will do some requesting and research...I have quite the time for this 3.5 week trip to find accommodation that will save wear and tear on my husband's knees and yet keeping to local housing when possible....but I love the planning and sites like these to "pool together" ideas. Very much appreciated.
