Hotel-Bastogne area?

We are planning a trip to see some World War II sites this fall. Am interested in hotel suggestions(prefer smaller hotels) in the area of Bastogne, Belgium. Thank you.

There are not a lot of hotel choices in Bastogne. We stayed at the Best Western Melba and liked it very much. (We normally stay in B&Bs or small hotels.) It's sort of an ordinary building, but the people that run it are very nice and helpful and they serve a pretty good breakfast. The location is excellent. We got upgraded to a huge suite and had tons of space. There are a ton of reviews on Trip Advisor if you want to get a better idea. We would stay there again.

If you want to try a very charming small hotel in the nearby countryside with a very good restaurant, right next to a trout stream, cross the border into Luxembourg and stay at the Domaine du Moulin d'Asselborn. It's only a 30-minute drive from Bastogne. The hotel even has its own little 'museum' of Battle of the Bulge artefacts found nearby over the years. We really liked it. www.hotelvieuxmoulin.lu

Have to agree with Elaine. I stayed at Hotel Leo this last September and loved it. The staff is great. Very good price for a lovely room and right across from the square. I liked the ferris wheel and center right across from of my window but if this is something you think may bother you ask for a room on the back side. Not noisy but bright until about 11pm as I recall. We had EASY and FREE parking in the back also.
