We are staying in Austria during our final vacation week and flying home through Munich this coming September. We want to tour Munich Friday and stay there for a Saturday 11:00 departure. Can anyone recommend a nice 2-Star hotel or B&B that also has a shuttle to the airport or able to arrange transportation to the airport early Saturday morning? Your help is appreciated.

You really don't need a "shuttle" to get to the airport. The train goes right to the airport from downtown Munich. From their the S-Bahn/U-Bahn connects to many favorable hotel destinations such as the Marienplatz which is right in the dead center of the historic center. Shuttles and taxis are really not necessary.
I know you asked for hotels, but I stayed in the Hotel Platzl which is quite a bit more expensive than a 2-star hotel. There was another hotel that had an excellent location, good reviews on tripadvisor and excellently priced - Hotel Blauer Bock. You should check it out.

The website is only in German but they reply to English emails and phone calls as well. Nice folks and good breakfast. Location near the Viktualienmarkt is great.
It is also close to the Marienplatz Sbahn stop. Take either the S8 or S1 to the airport. The S8 is a little quicker.

Thanks for the advice. I sent an email to the Hotel Blauer Bock this morning. Looks like it will serve our needs perfectly. Also, thanks for the guidance with the train to the airport.

I would suggest the Hotel Munchner Kindl. Very convenient, very freindly owners. My pregnant wife and I spent a few nights here in March 2007--it was a snap taking the train from the airport to this hotel.
