Rick's guidebook mentions that the Hotel am Markt is in St. Goar but every website has it located in Bacharach. Does anyone know which town it is acutally in??

Thank you both, apparently there is also a Hotel Cafe am Markt in Barcharach - has a different street address and is not the same hotel.
Can either of you tell me how hot it is in August in St. Goar/Bacharach? Most places don't seem to have air conditioning and when I was in Munich during the summer it got pretty uncomfortable.

I haven't been there but the hotel website says it's in St Goar, same as Rick is saying:

And I'm looking at page 249 of Rick's 2007 book and seeing it drawn on the St Goar map as location number one. I would go with Rick's map and the hotel website.

Dwight, The Hotel am Markt is indeed in St Goar. I have stayed there. Great choice--Nice rooms, comfy beds, very quiet. Happy Travels.

Dwight: go to weather.com and input either Frankfurt or Koln as the location, when the weather for today comes up look for the button that says averages or months and click that and you'll be able to select August and get long-term average high and low temps. Koln is a bit north and Frankfurt is a bit southeast, if you average those you should get what you're looking for.

I spent a few weekends in the area in July/August this year and the weather was extremely pleasant. I think that it might be kind of a luck of the draw thing though, because we had a fairly cool summer as a whole over here.
