Hotel Accomodation - Provence France

My friends and I are planning a trip to France's Provence region, and are thinking of having our home base in either Aix-en-Provence or Avignon. We were wondering if anyone can suggest hotel accomodations in those areas (at a reasonable price). There will be five of us traveling. Thank You!!!

Aix is not a good base for Provence. It's practically in Marseilles. Avignon is better situated. I hope you will have a car (or cars). It's hard to explore much of Provence without one.

If driving, I would prefer basing on the outskirts of Arles. It affords easier access than Avignon, and I like Arles better.

There are a couple of places near the Arles train station (so easy access via rail from Avigon, Paris or wherever you are flying from) with very easy access to Avis rental car at the station. Two places would be Hotel

Acacias or Hôtel Regence (easy in/out, free/cheap parking, good access to train station, great rates, nice place to stay).

Or others will recommend staying in the smaller villages in a gite.

So it really depends on what you want to do, what type of place you want to stay, what your budget is, where you will be going, how long you will be staying and what your interests are.

Without a bit more information, speculation will be rampant!
