I will be traveling to Germany and Switzerland this summer. Are there any clean, safe, and cheap hostels or hotels in the Germany and Switzerland areas that are recommended?

Alyssa, There are absolutely "clean, safe and cheap" Hostels or Hotels in the countries you mentioned. It's just about impossible to offer suggestions without knowing which cities you plan on visiting. Am I correct in assuming this is your first trip to Europe? If that's the case, I would highly recommend reading the Guidebook Europe Through The Back Door prior to your trip. You might check This Website for listings of reliable Hostels in various parts of Europe. Having an inexpensive HI Membership provides better rates and preferred booking. For budget Hotels, I'd suggest checking the country or city-specific Guidebooks available on this website (click the "Travel Store" link at the top). They have lots of good listings in different price ranges. You should be able to find these in your local Library or larger book stores.
