Hostel in St. Goar

We stayed there as a family. We actually had one room with two bunkbeds where wife and I stayed with two youngest kids. Oldest boy had his own single room.

It's a pretty standard hostel in all respects. It's nothing special but certainly passable. Burg Stahleck in nearby Bacharach is wonderful (but probably full or you wouldn't be asking, right?).

The caveat at St. Goar is the bathrooms are coed. Toilets have floor to ceiling doors and showers have two curtains, one for the shower and one to close off a small changing area. Sinks are in a common area.

I know I was briefly stunned when I opened the bathroom door to a roomfull of college age women wearing only towels. I thought I had accidently entered the ladies room. If one of the girls hadn't told me (in German) there was a shower available, I would have let the door close and found another bathroom.
