Honfleur France parking

Hi, we will be spending an afternoon in early June driving from Bayeux to Honfleur. We've heard that parking may be difficult in Honfleur. Any suggestions? Also does anyone have a restaurant suggestion for lunch in Honfleur? Thanks very much! Sue

Approaching from the main road from the autorout, you'll see a series of parking lots. The first one is the cheapest, we found out the hard way.

there is a designated parking lot I used in the past. I recall the road leading you in town curves towards right and you'll see a designated city parking lot. the street parking is a lot more difficult to find, so it's well worth the few euros to park and enjoy the town. there are plenty restaurants along the waterfront you can check out.

If you don't mind walking about 1/4-1/2 mile, there are free parking lots a little past the pay lots. I was there on a busy weekend day in July so even the pay lot was full, which is why I ended up in the free lot further on. I had no problem walking into town from there, it was a nice walk past a city park and a small amusement park. I don't remember eating lunch at a restaurant so I must have just eaten street food or maybe I had a picnic lunch with me. I do remember seeing dozens of cafes/restaurants along the waterfront so it shouldn't be hard to check menus and pick one. Hope you have a nice day, it was beautiful when I was there and the harbor and marina are very scenic.
