We are considering Homeway rental #350342 for our trip to Paris in April. Does anyone have any experience with this rental agency, particular apartment, or area. There are several good reviews, owner is responsive, price is good and it is one of the few apartments which will to rent for 5 nights We are leaning towards the Marais area in Paris.

I use Homeaway & VRBO probably 4-5 times a year and have yet to have an issue. It doesn't mean there isn't one waiting to happen! Homeaway is not an agency but a listing service, but it has a great rep for having 'the real thing'. Just make sure you google the address and names of any contact info they give you. If there's an issue, chances are you can flag it. I had that happen on a place I was looking at in Rome. it was legit, it was just the agency liked to move people around to other properties stating 'plumbing problems'. If there's plenty of reviews and no red flags, I would feel just fine about it. Love the Marais too. It's my favorite area to stay at in Paris. Have a great time!

One you get the address Google "Street View" the location. "Walk" up and down the streets and check to ensure that it is not a main street, or directly over a restaurant, etc. And check to find out EXACTLY what floor it is on, and if they have a working elevator, and ensure that they have a local conatact, in case you have some problems. We usually use VRBO for our apt rentals in the EU. when We were in Paris we found one we liked in Homelidays.com. Homeaway and VRBO are sister companies, that represent property owners. To ensure absolute piece of mind we get a travel insurance policy thru one of the companies represented by Squaremouth.com.

Cannot talk about Homeaway specifically but rented apartment in Marais on Rue Rambuteau last Sept for a week - marvelous.
