Have you checked Trip Advisor for a review of the hotel? Usually hotels in that area are some what expensive. If you get some good information, please share it with the rest of us. Thanks!

Years ago it was a budget fave, with an ideal location, affable host, and plumbing that belonged in a museum, or a zoo. Cramped, dark, it peeped across a small enclosed plaza with a quirky wine bar at one end and chestnut trees that shed crunchy leaves in September. Cristo wrapped the two adjoining segments of the Pont Neuf in silk one week that fall. I fell in love with an art curator over breakfast but my charter plane would not wait, damn. At least I still have a plate from the wine bar, purchased as a souvenir at a time when the two waiter sons of the owner planned to run the New York marathon carrying their trays. I have read of renovations but I fear for my memories, and still fear the plumbing too. Send us a valentine if you go.
By the way, be careful that there is a Residence Henri IV hotel not too far away, as if French history were not confusing enough.

Ah, Southam. isn't it nice to have such memories? That's what travel is all about in the end.
