HELP with Spain Itinerary[INVALID]esp. cordoba, sevilla, granada

Any recommendations for how long one needs in Cordoba, Sevilla and Granada? My husband and I are traveling to Spain for about 2 weeks. Here is the itinerary we were discussing, but I am worried that we may be spending too much time in some of these spots... any recommendations would be greatly appreciated Option 1: Madrid (4 nights) Train to Cordoba and stay there 1 night Train to Sevilla (3 nights) Train to Granada (2 nights, 3 full days) Overnight train Granada to Barcelona Barcelona (4 nights) We both are very intrigued with Barcelona and want to spend a good amount of time there. My concern is whether we should stay the 1 night in Cordoba[INVALID]I have read that Cordoba is a good day trip from Sevilla. Is a day trip to Cordoba do-able during a 3 night stay in Sevilla? Is 3 full days in Granada too much? Any suggestions, or refinements to the itinerary (even adding different places) are welcomed. Thank you in advance for your help!

You're itinerary sounds really good. We didn't visit Cordoba, so I can't speak to that. We spent two nights in Sevilla and wished we could've stayed a third. We stayed in Barc for three nights and wished we could've stayed another night or two. Barc was the highlight of our trip. We fell in love with that city. I don't think three days in Granada is too much. I think that's a good allottment of time. You can spend a day at the Alhambra and two days in town. Enjoy.

Hi Erin - My husband and I visited Spain this spring for Semana Santa and we spent 4 nights in Madrid and 3 nights in Sevilla, and did Cordoba as a day-trip on the way between Sevilla and Madrid. We thought we had the perfect amount of time in each place to see all the Rick recommended sites and take a daily siesta - so I think your plan sounds good (although I can't speak to the Granada/Barcelona portion). We were glad we didn't stay the night in Cordoba, as we felt it was a bit touristy feeling, and it really worked out great as a day trip en route - we stored our luggage in the bus station across the street from the train station, and we didn't waste any time "doubling back" to Sevilla. If you are looking for another place to spend a night (or 2), I would highly recommend Arcos de la Frontera. There isn't any big site like the Alhambra or the Mezquita, but the town itself is completely charming and lovely to stroll around. Another option would be Toledo - we did it as a day trip, but it was crowded and I think we would have enjoyed it more as an overnight. Have fun!

You have done a good job for the amount of time you have to spend in Spain. We took a day trip to Cordoba from Sevilla and wished that we had stayed overnight. Depending on what time your train arrives from Madrid, an overnight stay will give you some time in Cordova without back tracking. The same with Granada, 3 full days will give you the time to see everything and not be rushed. Hasta la Vista!

You schedule is good. Keep the overnight in Cordoba cause that is about right. Don't make any sense to go through Cordoba to Sevilla than day trip back. The Alhambra (Granada) can be a full day in itself. Be sure to get tickets in advance. It is the most popular tourist site in all of Spain.

We're planning a stop in Cordoba on our way to Sevilla. We should be arriving in Cordoba via train in the early afternoon (and will be pretty jetlagged). We were planning on spending the night and the the whole next day in Cordoba. Does it make more sense to take a late afternoon train to Sevilla on day 2 or spend a second night in Cordoba and then take a morning train on day 3? Thanks.

Jen....to your last point..six of one, half a dozen of the other. Personally, I'd take a late train (maybe early evening) from Cordoba, so I'd be ready to hit the ground running in Sevilla the next morning. If you get a good nap upon your arrival in Cordoba, then you should be able to enjoy the city that first night...then tour the next day, then off to Sevilla.
