I read in Rick's Barcelona book to purchase tickets to the Picasso Museum online to avoid lines. I went to the site and am a bit confused. It says children under 16 are free. Does that mean I only purchase 1 ticket online? Or, do I purchase 3 and get some sort of refund when I'm there? I'm concerned if the kids don't have a ticket we will have to wait in another line. Does anyone have experience doing this? Thanks!
Marni We will be there June 26-30 and looking to go on the 27th. On Trip Advisor it suggests going in the morning, but in the guidebook it suggests going in the afternoon. Help appreciated!
We went to the Picasso Museum on May 7th with tickets we bought online. There was a very long line at the front of the museum in the afternoon and we were confused about how to bypass it so we went around to the group entrance and showed our ticket print out to the guard who pointed us to the person scanning the tickets. We had tickets for all of us so I can't help there, but I did want to let you know that it's open. Jonie
I'm so confused -- one site says it's closed and yet u bought tickets in May! Help!
I believe the Picasso Museum is closed until the end of 2013.
Marni The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is open, the Picasso Museum in Paris is under renovations. I did a dummy ticket purchase for June 27th and there are tickets available for most times. It does say that no refunds whatsoever, so it I would probably call and ask about the under 16 rather than hope for a refund. We visited two years ago at the end of June and did not purchase advance tickets but had no problem getting in the late afternoon, but I hate to recommend that to people because things change. Best to call them and see and also see if they require something like student id for proof of age.
Mea culpa!! I missed the word "Barcelona" in Marni's post and just assumed she was referring to the museum in Paris. My apologies.
Norma, as punishment you must rearrange your face and body into a typical Picasso pose.
Oh, Karen, that happened years ago!
Tickets purchased! The deal is -- for anyone who wants to know -- tickets for discounts must be purchased on site. So, I decided to avoid waiting in line and just buy tickets for my kids! Thanks all! M

Lou, our mission is to amuse!
I'd know a Karen post anywhere; one of my greatest sources of joy in life ;-) Just how many Picasso museums do we need? Did some of the body parts get lost/stolen over the years, and the countries involved are refusing to repatriate those parts?
I guess we need at least eight ... (courtesy Wikipedia) Picasso Museum may refer to: Berggruen Museum, Berlin, Germany Buitrago del Lozoya, Spain Château Grimaldi (Antibes), Antibes, France Fundación Picasso, Málaga, Spain Kunstmuseum Pablo Picasso Münster, Münster, Germany Museo Picasso Málaga, Málaga, Spain Museu Picasso, Barcelona, Spain Musée Picasso, Paris, France
Palace of Catalan Music (Palau de la Musica Catalana)
DO NOT MISS!
Hopefully, you will be able to see the complete collection. We went in January and they had an unannounced (not mentioned on website) closing of 99% of his paintings. I was crushed as I was returning to see what blew me away 8 years ago and was looking forward to my husband seeing the museum for the 1st time. I know, it happens but its not fun when it happens to me. We pay good money to get overseas, we want everything to be open:)
I'm with you, Kelly ;-) Wow, Laura - I insist that we gather up all The Picasso Bits and reassemble them in ONE location! Norma and I already have our hands full, so we'll leave the work to someone else .^)< /.</p> (Ummm...that's 'eye, nose, smile, arms, leg, eye, leg...)
