Rick Steves recommends this tour of Tangiers by Aziz or Aziz Tours. I emailed him to ask about a private tour and he did email me back and said he was available.
Then I sent him an email back on 10/17 and then again about a week later with some questions. I still have not heard from him.
Has anyone had this problem with him? Does Rick Steves have a department that handles problems with people that he recommends in his books?

You might try emailing the Rick Steves company to ask. Use the "contact us" link at the bottom of this page, then the "email" link for travel questions. They could at least tell you if they could assist you or not.
I sent him a request on 10.20 and rec'd a reply on 10.25 asking which tour I wanted. Then I sent him a reply and a couple of questions on 10.26 and have not heard back yet.
Well, if it took him five days to respond the first time, you might be looking at getting an anwer today or tomorrow. I think you're being a little impatient. In other parts of the world they have a different concept of time and "urgency" than we do here.
Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions. When I check my mail this morning I had a message from him. although I did email him again yesterday saying that it was urgent as we are leaving in 3 weeks.
2 years ago we also booked a tour with Aziz in Tangier. We had a wonderful full day touring and at the end of the day he took us to our hotel and made sure we were all checked in and felt comfortable.
As previous posts, please don't be impatient with him. Many parts of the world do not operate on our hectic schedules.
He made our reservations on the ferry and picked us up at the dock. We were the last ones to be picked up and for a moment we actually almost panicked. There are several guides waiting for the ferry from Spain everyday and many asked if we needed a tour guide. When they asked who we were waiting for, we replied Aziz and they said don't worry, he was the best and would be there. Tangier is 2 hours behind Spain even though it is located directly south of Spain.
Aziz is very knowledgeable, takes you were you want to go. He speaks 4-5 languages and knows everyone in the medina. He took us into a friends home, so we could see how daily life is lived. We actually toured with him about 2 weeks after he had taken Rick Steves for a tour.
Enjoy your tour and relax. You will definetely not be in Kansas anymore. But take his cell phone number and email just in case. He has a Spain cell phone number and also a Morrocan one.
It was the highlight of our Spain trip.
